Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 15, 2026

Carnivore Note ("we", "our", or "us") operates carnivorenote.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We are committed to being straightforward: we collect only what is necessary to operate the service, and we do not sell your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account or sign in with Google, we collect your email address and a display name if provided. This is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.

Conversation history. If you are signed in, your questions and the AI's responses are saved to your account so you can access them across devices. If you are not signed in, nothing is stored on our servers.

Usage data. We record the number of questions you ask each day to enforce the free tier limit (5 questions per day). This count is stored against your account ID.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your credit card number. Stripe provides us with a customer ID and subscription status only. You can review Stripe's privacy practices at stripe.com/privacy.

Technical data. We receive standard server logs including IP addresses and browser type. This is used solely for security and abuse prevention.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the service.

3. Third-Party Services

Your questions are processed by the xAI API (Grok) to generate responses. Your input is transmitted to xAI's servers for this purpose. Please review xAI's privacy policy at x.ai/legal/privacy-policy.

User authentication is handled by Google Firebase. Their privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Subscription billing is handled by Stripe. Their privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

4. Data Retention

Your conversation history is retained until you delete individual conversations or close your account. Daily usage counts are automatically deleted after 90 days. If you close your account, all associated data is deleted within 30 days.

5. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at carnivorenote@gmail.com. You can delete individual conversations directly within the app. You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Manage Subscription option in the app.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

6. Children

Carnivore Note is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Contact

If you have questions or concerns about this policy, please contact us at carnivorenote@gmail.com.
